When is too much Grime enuff ... ? Fucking Never thats when. If proof was needed (?) that London is a hotbed of sonic innovation right now, then this will surely silence the haters ... 100 UNMIXED Grime Instrumentals ...
All bad boy producers on this one ... Skreamz, N-Type, F1, Plasticman, J Sweet, Iron Soul, Terror Danjah, IMP Batch etc. etc.
One I hadn't come across is Krome Star, this shit is right where I'm at ... like U.R vs. Dr. Dre. I got my eyes peeled for some vinyl by this guy(s) ... heavy sounds.
I recently got 2 new EPs by Iron Soul, 1 on Sweetbeats / Marxmen, the other on Southside. Both are Class A bombers !!! esp. the first cut on the "Heavens Reject" EP... twisted vocal samples and dark bass riddims ...
To listen to what I'm on about chk this digitalpausetapemix I've cut in Samplitude ... 64kbps, live reverb & FL5 robot voice'd over the top ... with some added digital debris ... MEGAMIX STYLEE
F1 - Luck Of The Draw
Krome Star - 80 Hurtz
Iron Soul - House Of Shots
Floops - Melody
Krome Star - Madkite
Krome Star - Theif
Mr.Keas - Cut

yr big doomstep thanks for the promo mix, good idea. i see this thing around but it always seems to daunting to pick up, though value for money must be crazy compared to buying twelves. If i had CD dex you know i'd own it
mix on the d/l
wierd things are happening to your blog tho man
comments not going thru and rss stream doenst seem to be publishing to
I'd rather it was 100 grime accapellas...
...that'd be more fun to play with
Its true, that pack was a marathon to get through, took a few sittings. Its def. worth the ca$h still, just for the Iron Soul / Krome Star bits. I'll get a longer edit together when Vol.2 comes out ...
I think its great just cos its unmixed instrumentals, and thats a wierd concept really. There are a ton of mix cds with MCs or without, and unmixed comps of vocal stuff but fewer comps of 12" based instrumental stuff ... look what Rephlex did (do) when they compile obscure vocal-less stuff for the CD generation ...
... that disco-fried beat is "Construction" by Cru, whoever the hell they (s/he) are ... it'll probably turn out its Iron Soul a.k.a Krome Star ...
